The
Irukandji Police operated throughout Irukandji during its fast-paced period
of growth from late 2007 until November 2008.
During that time, the Irukandji Police devoted themselves to maintaining order
and greeting newcomers throughout the 55 sims of Irukandji and Jillaroo Estates.

With the downsizing of the estate in November 2008 and various restructuring
issues, it was mutually agreed to dissolve the force, bringing an end to a
significant piece of Irukandji history.
Irukandji Police was administered by Lemuel Recreant, whose ancestral ties date
back to the early Irukandji Governors.
The Recreant Family burial plot is a local landmark on Manatu Island, at what is
now the Irukandji Fish Farm. (see also the
Recreant Family
Plot)
Find out more about the Recreant family in the sim profile for Manatu Island.

Irukandji Islands Police

The Irukandji Police force was set up at the request and through the generosity
of Xay Tomsen, the owner of the Irukandji resort. Most of the officers are
residents in the local community. All of our officers are all unpaid volunteers
and we are here to help.
Our primary task is to uphold the rules of SL, and in practice our work includes
the prevention and investigation of incidents ranging from griefing to illegally
rezzed objects. We like to think that our primary weapons are words, and our
style of policing is friendly and low-key. However, we are well equipped to deal
with any serious threats to the community. If you have any difficulties with
which we can help you, please contact us. This includes incidents involving
persistent intruders on your own land.
It is our honour to serve and protect the people of the islands of Irukandji. Feel free to drop in to visit us.
Help us to ensure that these beautiful islands remain the home of a happy and
flourishing community.
