I don't even know your name,
Yet I adore you.
I adore surrendering to this feeling you evoke in me.
This overwhelming feeling that leaves me so vulnerable and free.

And so I name you Night Sprite, my beautiful nameless Night Sprite.

For a week now, the midnight pattern has remained unaltered,
You emerge from the shadowed path beside the river, and I slow my step to smile,
You also smile - an impish smile - then offer a gentle "hello".
It is not the "hello" of strangers, but one of innocence and intrigue.

Before I regain my breath or sense, we've continued along our separate nocturnal pathways.

Is it true?
Are you deliberately trying to first seduce my mind?
My mind is all that remains,
For my dreams these past days have already seen your conquest of my body.

So tell me Night Sprite;
My timid beau with the impish smile and sensuous eyes.
Are you sitting in your room as I am now?
Are you writing poetry, or perhaps thinking about the man you pass every night by the river?

Are you real?
Do you realise that I fell in love, the very first time you uttered a word?
What are you thinking when you smile at me from afar?
Why do I feel as though you can see my thoughts before they are even born?

Am I ready for another creature of the darkness, and are you ready for me?
