Art + Writing by Xavier T : Short Stories

Short Story writing, is a special skill, especially to a writer who prefers the largeness of novels. One has to create a scene, provide a plot, and begin and end a worthwhile story, all in a cosy 5 minute read.
However, short stories also provide an opportunity to return and flesh them out later, and often one discovers the foundation for a much larger tale.
In the same way, a scene in a novel can spawn a stand-alone story equally as precious as one created from scratch. Novel excerpts are like the torn out page of a stranger's diary, allowing the reader to use their imagination.
