Alisa Hocter,
Johannesburg, South Africa
Hi Jim,
I'm proud to announce that I am the first South African to even know about the Jim list.
I fell in love with your music when I heard Streets of Fire, but only later, when I heard Pandora's Box did I make the Jim connection, although I'd been listening to Meatloaf and Bonnie Tyler for a very long time.
I grew up in a dance studio, and looking back now, I can see just how much I was surrounded by your music during my childhood. I never knew the man behind the songs.....but I do know that someone blessed us when you were born to give us those songs.
It's no wonder that I have grown up to be the dreamer that I am, filled with as much passion and emotion that your music gives to so many. I sometimes feel that you can see inside our souls and that you put into lyrics what we all feel in our hearts. You have saved my life so many times. Every time I feel down, Rock n Roll dreams plays on the radio, and I always feel so much better, that song just says so much.
Happy birthday Mr Steinman...keep writing those golden nuggets!!
All my love,
Alisa
