It was a hot summer night in '77. . .

Actually I don't remember the exact season it was when I saw the red album cover with Richard Corbin's Motorcycle demon breaking out of grave. The name Meat Loaf sounded like a novelty act, but when I saw that Todd Rundgren had produced the album and Utopia was doing backup, I decided to take a chance and bought the 8-Track to listen to on the way home.

Your music and lyrics had completely won me over by the phase "Nothing ever grows in this rotting old hole and everything is stunted and lost. . ." This was an extremely accurate description of my (And probably everyone else's) hometown. I drove around that night until I had listened to all of it.

Later that year I became a DJ for a small FM station that played rock at night and all cuts of Bat, Dead Ringer and later Bad for Good all received regular airplay in that small part of the world.

Time has moved on, I have moved on and that was a different life, except the music has remained the same. I've added Bonnie Tyler into the mix and now I am wearing out my first "Tanz" CD and waiting for the show to get to the States.

The bottom line from me, on your birthday, is to thank you for the more years than I care to admit to of great music. You gave a lot of my life a soundtrack. And here's to hoping that the best is yet to come.
