Hey Jim,
First of all, I want to say that it is a great honor to be able to participate in this yearbook. When I first heard about it, I knew that I had to do it, because your music has so greatly impacted my life.
I probably discovered your music somewhat later than most people my age. I had heard about "Bat Out Of Hell", but when it was released I never really paid much attention to it. But then, in 1983, I heard the most amazing song ever .... "Total Eclipse Of The Heart".
I related immediately to that song, went out and bought the album, and played it over and over and over. I then had to get anything "Written and Produced by Jim Steinman".
But, as much as I enjoyed listening to your music, it wasn't until this past year that I really began to dig deeper into your music and lyrics. I realized how monumentally life changing your music is. It makes me think, it makes me laugh, it makes me cry, it makes me feel, and most of all: it helps me LIVE.
I am really happy to have the opportunity to thank you for your lifetime of creativity, and for all of the songs and music that you have given us.
Have a GREAT day!
Ed Gately
