To the crook of growth
Spirals around the stem
Among the thorns and leaves
Until it answers lover's call

Hello, Jim.
How are you and all that? I wondered why I was writing this since I don't really like birthdays all that much. See too many people getting older and not keeping young at heart, I guess. It reminds me to throw in some music and listen away. I'm just here to say that I keep listening, that I'm still writing my poems and my short stories, just living away my days as best as I can.
Just to say thank-you as well, for touching us with the words and the music over the years. Different things to each one of us, but all finding something important, something that makes us want to live and breathe and enjoy the life after birth we have been given. It's easy getting depressed seeing how the world is going, but I'm always inspired, some how or another, to get up and keep struggling for the things in life that are worthwhile, for compassion and love. The music keeps playing, keeps me young at heart no matter where I go.
Thanks for bringing something that special into my life. Glad I could contribute to something a bit special in yours. Happy birthday.
